𝙿𝙴𝙴𝙺-𝙰-𝙱𝙾𝙾 👀 𝙸 𝚃𝙴𝙰 𝚈𝙾𝚄!
If you visit the beautiful Nerada Tea 🍵 Plantation, don't forget to LOOK UP! 👆🏽 You might just get a mug-nificent surprise... ✨ A Lumholtz’s Tree Kangaroo staring down at you!
This curious animal falls into the macropodidae family, which include the more familiar wallabies and kangaroos. 🦘
The Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo is one of the smaller species within the family and are only found in the rainforest 🌴 of Tropical North Queensland, centred on the Atherton Tablelands, extending north as far as Mount Carbine and as far south as Cardwell.
These guys spend most of their time in trees 🌳, eating leaves 🍃 and fruit 🥭, teaching their joeys the ropes, and enjoying the view looking down on you.
So give them a wave, a smile and a good "awwww" next time you stop into Nerada for some peaceful sereni-tea! 😉
